The well known painting Café Terrace at Night, is also known as The Cafe Terrace on the Place du Forum. Van Gogh executed this richly colored oil painting in Arles, France, in roughly mid-September 1888. It's interesting to note that this, one of his most beloved paintings, is also one that he didn't sign, although there is plenty of proof in the form of letters and pen drawings which prove the Dutch painter was the originator of the painting. Many art enthusiasts trek each year to stand at the northeastern corner of the Place du Forum where Van Gogh's easel was set up; looking south toward the coffee house and the rue de Palais. The original painting is housed at the Kröller-Müller Museum in Otterlo, Netherlands.
This painting has been beautifully reproduced for the needlepoint enthusiast by Collection D' Art's artisans.
